RESOLUTION NO. 1999- 0 6 3
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO AMEND
THE CURRENT ANNUAL BUDGET TO REALLOCATE ONE POSITION.
WHEREAS, on June 21, 1999 the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No. NS-
2387, which establishes the City's Annual Budget authorizing position allocations for Fiscal
Year 1999-2000, and which sets forth the requirement that alterations in the allocation of
authorized positions be reviewed and approved by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, due to the need to provide additional Council support, an entry level
unrepresented Management Aide (UC) position was approved for the Council Services Office in
the current Annual Budget; and
WHEREAS, the number of complex and difficult assignments to be handled by this
position has increased significantly, thus bringing about the need for the position to be filled at
the "experienced level" rather than the "entry level" to function effectively; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager proposes to reallocate the entry level Managemem Aide
(UC) position to the experienced level class of Senior Management Assistant (Exempt) (UC) to
ensure that the position is appropriately classified and the pay level is commensurate with the
scope and complexity of the duties performed; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend the Fiscal Year 1999-2000 Budget in order to
effect this change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA:
1. That the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 1999-2000, as amended, be further
amended by reallocating one position previously allocated to the classification title Management
Aide (UC) (Salary Rate Range No. 569) to the existing classification title of Senior Management
Assistant (Exempt) (UC) (Salary Rate Range No. 624).
2. That except as amended by this Resolution, all other provisions of the Annual
Budget for Fiscal Year 1999-2000 shall remain in full rome and effect.
3. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after October 1, 1999.
