RESOLUTION NO. 2000-011
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR
GRANT FUNDS FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT
PROJECTS TO THE ORANGE COUNTY
TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR FUNDING UNDER
THE COMBINED TRANSPORTATION FUNDING
PROGRAMS
VVHEREAS, the Arterial Highway Rehabilitation Program (AHRP) has been
developed to address arterial pavement rehabilitation needs in the Orange County area;
and
WHEREAS, the City desires to implement the following transportation
improvements from the approximately $60 million dollars that is available countywide from
the Transportation Equity Act funds; and
WHEREAS, the City's Circulation Element is consistent with the County of
Orange Master Plan for Arterial Highways and Santa Ana has been declared to meet
the eligibility requirements to receive Measure M turnback funding; and
WHEREAS, in November, 1999, the Orange County Transportation Authority
(OCTA) issued a call for projects for the AHRP for fiscal years 2000/2001 through
2002/2003; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to submit project applications to OCTA
with a total project cost of $17.1 million.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby requests the Orange
County Transportation Authority allocate funds, in the amount specified in the City's
application, to the City from the Combined Transportation Funding Program. Said funds
shall be matched by funds from the City, as required, and shall be used as
supplemental funding to aid the City in the improvement of the following streets:

2. The Executive Director of the Public Works Agency is hereby appointed as
agent of the City of Santa Ana to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all
documents, including, but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments,
payment requests and any other documents which may be necessary for the completion
of the aforementioned projects.
