RESOLUTION NO. 2000-026
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA APPROVING APPLICATIONS FOR ALL
AVAILABLE GRANTS UNDER THE CALIFORNIA
INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1' The City Council of the City of Santa Ana does find, determine and
declare as follows:
The State has adopted the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act
which provides funds to cities and counties for establishing and
maintaining local used oil collection programs that encourage recycling or
appropriate disposal of used oil.
The California Integrated Waste Management Board has been delegated
the responsibility for the administration of the local used oil collection
program within the state, setting up necessary procedures governing
application by cities and counties under the program.
Under the program, a city or county applicant must enter into an
agreement with the State of California for development of each project.
Section 2. The City Council hereby authorizes the submittal of grant applications
to the California Integrated Waste Management Board for all available grants under the
California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act and all available Household Hazardous
Waste grants under the California Integrated Waste Management Act for the period
extending through June 30, 2005.
Section 3. The City Attorney is directed to prepare and the Executive Director of
the Public Works Agency or designee, is authorized and empowered to execute, in the
name of the City of Santa Ana, all necessary applications, contracts, payment requests,
agreements and amendments hereto for the purpose of securing grant funds and to
implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application.
