RESOLUTION NO. 2000-032
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA DIRECTING THE ESTABLISHMENT AND
IMPLEMENTATION OF A DEMOLITION NOTIFICATION
PROCESS TO THE HISTORIC RESOURCES
COMMISSION AND THE SANTA ANA HISTORIC
PRESERVATION SOCIETY
WHEREAS, section 2-374 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code provides that the
Historic Resources Commission may recommend to City Council policies and
regulations regarding the protection of historical property and programs for the
protection and retention of histodc resources; and
WHEREAS, on April 6, 2000, the Historic Resources Commission voted to
recommend that City Council adopt a resolution directing the Planning and Building
Agency to establish and implement a demolition notification process to the Historic
Resources Commission and the Santa Ana Historic Preservation Society.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOVVS:
The Planning and Building Agency is hereby directed to establish and implement
a demolition notification process whereby the Histodc Resources Commission and the
Santa Ana Preservation Society shall be notified of all demolition permits issued by the
Planning and Building Agency for buildings f~ty years or older.
