Main Street. Roll call was answered by Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard~ Harry H. Harvey~ James GiLmore, Henry H. Schlueter~ and Mayor A. Allen Hall. Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was delivered by the Reverend George J. Busdiecker, St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. APPROVAL OF MINUTES On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by CounciLman Harvey and carried, the Minutes of the Regular meeting of January 6, 1964 were approved as mailed. CONTRACT AWARD On motion of Councilman Hubbard, ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 221 seconded by Councilman Sehlueter and carried, Council received and ordered filed a report and tabulation of bids received for the construction of improvements and sanitary sewers in Assessment District 221 (Watkins Way). APPEAL 112 It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, E!~'.'f,k'~ seconded by Councilman Harvey, that a new hearing be set for February 17, 1964, 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers on Appeal 112 filed by David E. ~ller frem the Planning Cc~mission's denial of Variance 1834 to construct a 120 unit, one and two story apartment complex on R 1 land at 1901 N. Santiago. Robert Rickles, 611 W. 8th Street, attorney for the appellant, gave consent to the new hearing requested by Messrs. Markets, the City was asking for dedication of a small piece of property at the south- east corner of Fairview and Edinger to improve the turning radius for traffic. C. V. Brown, Engineer employed by Stater Bros., explained that the property is under a purchase option and the persons buying it do not wish to .rake an exchange. It was moved by Council~n Hubbard, seconded by Councilm,~ Schlueter and carried, that the request of Starer Bros. be denied. It was suggested by Mayor Hall that starer Bros. andl the purchaser of the property meet with City staff to negotiate a three way transaction. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seccaded by Councilman Schlueter and carried, the City Council post- po~ed action of a proposed revision of business license taxes to the meeting of February S, 196~ so that wider publicity might be given the proposal.
