A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF WATER
RESOURCES UNDER THE COSTA-MACHADO WATER
BOND ACT OF 2000 FOR CREEK RESTORATION IN
SANTIAGO PARK
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines
and declares as follows:
A. The California Department of Water Resources, Division of Local
Assistance, Urban Streams Restoration Program has announced the
availability of funds for grants.
Said grants funds are intended to help solve flooding and erosion
problems in a way that provides environmental enhancements and
benefits.
The Santiago Park Neighborhood Association has proposed to co-sponsor
a grant application with the City of Santa Aha.
The California Department of Water Resources established procedures
and criteria that require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval
of application before submission of said application to the State.
E. The application contains assurances that the applicant must comply with.
The applicants, if selected, will enter into an agreement with the State of
California to carry out the environmental enhancement and mitigation
project.
The City will comply with all federal, state and local requirements related
to this project.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana approves the filing of a joint
application with the Santiago Park Neighborhood Association for an Urban Streams
Restoration Program Grant.

Section 3. The City Council certifies that said Applicant will make adequate
provisions for operation and maintenance of the projects.
Section 4. The City Council appoints the City Manager or the Executive Director
of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency as the agents for the City of
Santa Ana to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but
not limited to applications, work plans, agreements, amendments, payment requests
which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project.
