A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO
EFFECT CERTAIN CHANGES TO THE CITY'S BASIC
CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN, AND TO
AMEND THE CURRENT ANNUAL BUDGET TO
REALLOCATE ONE POSITION
BE iT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows:
Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana
requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position
classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations
and the approval of the City Council.
On August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No.
82-110 revising and re-establishing the Basic Classification and
Compensation Plan for Officers and Employees of the City of Santa Ana.
On June 18, 2001, the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No.
NS-2474, which establishes the City's Annual Budget, authorizing position
allocations for Fiscal Year 2001-2002, and which sets forth the
requirement that alterations in the allocation of authorized positions be
reviewed and approved by the City Council.
Periodic review of the Basic Classification and Compensation Plan reveals
the need to effect certain changes to the Plan, and to allocate or reallocate
certain positions.
It is the City's goal to ensure that job titles are consistent with industry
practices and that salaries are internally equitable and competitive with the
labor market.
It is now desired to amend Council Resolution No. 82-110 and the Current
Annual Budget in order to effect these changes.
Section 2: That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby
further amended by:
Resolution No. 2001-082
