A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA INCREASING THE PARAMEDIC SERVICE
FEE AND ADOPTING THE FEE TO THE
MISCELLANEOUS FEE SCHEDULE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines
and declares as follows:
The City of Santa Ana Fire Department, Paramedic Service Section has
incurred increased costs of providing paramedic services to the
community. Increasing the fee imposed on citizens requiring paramedic
services will help defer the increased costs to the City in providing the
service.
The Santa Ana Fire Department has provided paramedic services to the
citizens of Santa Aha since 1974. Due to increased cost, the paramedic
services flat rate fee is not longer equivalent to the cost of providing the
service. In order to continue providing paramedic services to the
community, the City has been forced to subsidiZe the program from its
general fund.

The proposed increased fee of 7.8 % will adjust the fee to more accurately
represent the actual cost of providing paramedic services. Due to
increased costs in providing paramedic services, it is appropriate to add
this fee to the miscellaneous fee schedule.

The City Council incorporates herein, as though fully set forth, the Request
For Council Action accompanying this resolution.
Section 2. The City Council hereby increases and establishes the following
fees relating to paramedic services.
A. The paramedic services fiat rate fee is hereby increased by 7.8 %.
Section 3. That without further action of the City Council the paramedic
services fiat rate fees shall be incorporated into the City's Miscellaneous Fee Schedule.
