HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-004 - Santiago Park Woodlands Restoration Projectbk:1/10/2002 RESOLUTION NO. 2002-004 RESOLUTION TO SUBMIT GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE RIPARIAN AND RIVERINE HABITAT GRANT PROGRAM UNDER THE SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, CLEAN WATER, CLEAN AIR, AND COASTAL PROTECTION BOND ACT OF 2000 FOR THE SANTIAGO PARK WOODLANDS RESTORATION PROJECT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: The People of the State of California, have enacted the Riparian and Riverine Habitat Grant Program, which provides funds to the State of California for grants to local agencies and federally recognized California Indian tribes to increase public recreational access, awareness, understanding, enjoyment, and protection of California's irreplaceable rivers and streams. The California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the grant program, setting up necessary procedures. Said procedures established by the California Department of Parks and Recreation require the City of Santa Ana to,certify by resolution the approval of the application before submission of said application to the State. D. The City of Santa Ana will enter into the contract with the State of California for the project. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves the submittal of an application to the California Department of Parks and Recreation for the Riparian and Riverine Habitat Program to be used for the Santiago Park Woodlands Restoration project. Section 3. The City Council of the City of Santa Aha hereby certifies that the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project. Section 4. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana certifies that the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency has reviewed, understands and agrees to the general provisions contained in the contract shown in the procedural guide. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and empowers the Executive Director of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency or his designee to execute in the name of the City of Santa Ana all necessary applications, contracts, agreements, amendments and payments requests hereto for the purpose of securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application for the Santiago Park Woodlands Restoration project. Section 6. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this Resolution.
