RESOLUTION TO SUBMIT GRANT APPLICATION FOR LAND
AND WATER CONSERVATION FUNDS TO BE USED FOR THE
CENTENNIAL PARK PLAYGROUND REHABILITATION
PROJECT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and
declares as follows:
The Congress under Public Law 88-578 has authorized the establishment of a
Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant-In-Aid Program, providing
matching funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions for
acquiring lands and developing facilities for public outdoor recreation purposes.
The California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the grant program in California and setting
up necessary rules and procedures governing application by local agencies
under the program.
Said adopted procedures established by the California Department of Parks and
Recreation require the City Council of the City of Santa Ana to certity by
resolution the approval of the application and the availability of local matching
funds prior to submission of said application to the State.
The proposed Centennial Park Playground Rehabilitation Project is consistent
with the Statewide Comprehensive Recreation Plan: California Outdoor
Recreation Plan - 1994.
The project must be compatible with the land use plans of those jurisdictions
immediately surrounding the project.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves the submittal
of an application to the California Department of Parks and Recreation for Land and Water
Conservation Fund Assistance to be used for the Centennial Park Playground Rehabilitation
Project (the "project").
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby certifies that the Parks,
Recreation, and Community Services Agency has matching funds from Proposition 40 and can
finance 100 percent of the project, half of which will be reimbursed.
Section 4: The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby certifies that the project
is compatible with the land use plans of those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the project.
Section 5. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby directs the City Attorney
to prepare all necessary agreements and authorizes and empowers the City Manager or
designee to execute in the name of the City of Santa Ana all necessary applications, contracts,

agreements, amendments and payments requested hereto which may be necessary for the -
completion of the aforementioned project.
Section 6. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City
Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this Resolution.
