The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 217
North Main Street. Roll call was answered by Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard,
James Gilmore, Henry H. Schlueter, and Mayor A. Allen Hall. Councilman
Harry Hr Harvey arrive~ later.
CLEEK'S REPORT The Clerk reported that the Order
of Adjournment of the regular
meeting of September 8, 196k was
posted as required by law and
submitted a Certificate of Posting Order of Adjournment. Certificate was
ordered filed on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman
$chlueter and carried.
ORD. NS-757 ORDINANCE NS-757 AN ORDINANCE OF
ELECTION BOND ISSUE, T~E CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA,
CMC CENTER ORDERING, CALLING, PROVIDING FOR
AND GIVING NOTICE OF A SPECIAL
ELECTIO~ TO BE ~t~LD IN SAID CITY ON NOVEMBER 3, 196~, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID CITY A PROPOSITION TO INCUR
BONDED IN~ED~ESS BY SAID CITY FOR A CERTAIN MUNICIPAL IMPROV~ENT, AND
CONSOL/DATiNG SAID ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD ON ~AID DATE was read by title.
It wg~'moved ~C(rdncilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter, that
further reading be waived and Ordinance NS-757 be adopted.
Mrs. Janice Bc~ 9]9 N. Lowell, asked a number of questions regarding the
amount of land to~e given tothe County and if any was to be sold to the
County. It was St~ed that the agreement called for "approximately eight
acres" and that i~ ~waS ~ot the intention of the Council to sell any land
Councilman Harvey ~rived a~ h:35 p.m. and was present for the remainder
· of the meeting,
In amswer to a question from Mrs. Boer, the Manager stated a map of the
C~vic Center showing the County, City, and Joint areas could be prepared
~f~ public viewing at City Hall.
The motion to waive further reading and adopt Ordinance NS-757 was carried

PROPERTY, CIVIC CENTER .~D{ECUTION OF AGREEME~ BETWEEN THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AND TEE COUNTY OF
ORANGE FOR ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN
REAL PROPERTY BY EACH OF SAID pARTIES, TRANSFER OF TITLE TO CERTAIN PROPERTY
BETWEEN SAID PARTIES~ INDIVIDUAL AND JOINT USE AND DEVELOPMENT OF PROPERTY
PRESENTLY OWNED AND PROPERTY TO BE ACQUIRED FOR THE EXPANSION, DEVELOPMENT
AND USE OF THE CIVIC CENTER SITE IN SAID CITY was read by title.

It was moved by Councilman Nubbardl ~econded by Ceuncilm, n Schlueter that
further reading be waived and ~e~etu~Ao~. 64-137 be adopted.
The agreement in its entirety was read by ~he City Manager. In auswer
to a question by Councilman Gilmore regarding the term "approximately
eight acres", it was the opinio~ of.~ the City Attorney that the Coux~s
probably would not consider an~th~ over ten as being in the proximity
of eight.
The motion ~o waive further readi~g ~nd adopt Resolution 64-137 w~s carrier
on roll 'call vote.

It was moved by Councilman Hubbardj seconded by Councilmam Schlueter 'that
further reading be waived and Resolution 6~-138 be adopted.
The agr~eement was read by the City Manager in its entirety.

The Clerk reported that on August
1964 a referendum petitionhad been
filed protecting the adoption of '
Ordinance NS-74~; that examination of
the petition found it to be signed by not less than ten per cemt of the
voters of She City; and submitted Certificate of Sufficiency~ together
with Certificate of County clerk showing number of registered voters on
date of filing of petition. The Certificates were or~ere~ filed on
motion of Councilm~ Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter ~and carried.

come before the Council, the meeting
