RESOLUTION NO. 2003-071
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO
EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE
CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines and
declares as follows:
The Santa Ana Police Department has been awarded grant funding in the
amount of $13,027, from the California Office of Homeland Security,
Critical Infrastructure Protection Reimbursement program.
The purpose of this program is to reimburse local law enforcement for
overtime expenditures used to protect the City's critical infrastructure during
the beginning stages of the war effort in the Middle East.
This grant will reimburse 100 percent of the overtime expenditures made by
the Police Department during the period from March 17 to April 16, 2003.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and directs
the City Manager and the Chief of Police or his designee to execute the grant award
agreement with the California Office of Homeland Security.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the
City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting
this Resolution.
