OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SA~A ANA. CALIFORNIA
October 19, 1967
The meeting was called to order at 7~00 P.M in the Council Ch~nbers, 217
North Main Street with the following CounciLmen present: Wade Herrin,
Walter Brooks~ James E. Carlson, Lorin Griset~ J. Ogden Markel, Thomas W.
Thurman, and Mayor Tom McMichael. There were no CounciLmen absent. Also
present were City Manager Carl J. Thornton, City Attorney William L. Mock,
Planning Director Van Stevens, Clerk of the Council Doris M. Brown, and
Basil Andrews, Traffic Engineer representing the Director of Public Works.
It was noted that the Regular Meeting of October 16, 1967, was adjourned to
this time and pIace, with notice posted and mailed as required by law, and
evidence on file.
Following the Flag Salute, the Invocation was delivered by Father John Wehmhoefer,
Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

FAIRVIEW IMPROVEMENTS On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded
by Councilman Markel and carried, the
City Council ordered filed report of
bids received for Project 200 (II), Fairview Street~ Alton to Segerstrom;
awarded contract to Industrial Contracting Company at unit prices; and
rejected all other bids.

BOND ELECTION Certificates of Recognition for outstanding
work in the October 10 bond election were
presented te Councilmen Herrim, B~eoks,
Carlson, Griset, Thurmam a~d Ma~yer Mc3Lichael by Mr. Gil ~udsem on behalf of
the Chamber of Commerce. A similar citation was presented te the City Manager
by Mr. William Wemke.
Responding, Mayor McYaichael acknowledged the outstanding effort of the Chamber
of Commerce, noted also the important work of other business associations in
the community, mud expressed the hope that all of the groups cOUld Join together
ia the future in order te make a far greater City of Santa A~a.
