RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve an Appropriation Adjustment recognizing $2,360 in unanticipated
itle I Dislocated Worker funds and $1,225 in ·Title I Youth funds from
he State of California for Workforce Investment Act programs, and
appropriating same.
DISCUSSION
Periodically the State of California will recapture funds that have not
· been obligated by Local Workforce Investments Areas (LWIAs) and will
reallocate those funds to other LWIAs who have met the criteria for fund
utilization. The State Employment Development Department has determined
that the Santa Aha Local Workforce Investment Area is eligible to receive
a portion of the reallocated program year 2002-2003 Youth and Dislocated
Worker funds. The Title I Dislocated Worker program has been increased
by $2,360: the Title I Youth program by $1,225. These funds will be used
for operations, supportive services and training.

FISCAL IMPACT
Upon approval of the appropriation adjustment, funds will be available in
the WIA Dislocated Worker 2003-04 account (account no. 123-144-6933) and
the WIB Youth Council Program 2003-04 account (account no. 123-119-6933).
