RECOMMENDED ACTION
Award a contract to Firemaster for fire alarm testing and maintenance
in an amount not to exceed $10,000.
. DISCUSSION
The Finance and Management Services Agency's Building Maintenance
Division is responsible for maintaining the fire alarm systems of the
following City-owned buildings: City Hall, Ross Annex, Main and Newhope
Libraries, Corporation Yard, the Southwest Senior Center, and the Santa
Ana Senior Center. Services performed under this contract include the
annual testing of alarms and smoke detectors as well as routine and
emergency repairs. The cost of the purchase when combined with
previous purchases this fiscal year from Firemaster exceeds the $10,000
aggregate limit and requires City Council approval.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Building Maintenance Fund account
no. 73-105-6291).
