RECOMMENDED ACTION
Renew the contract with Uniform Center for police uniforms for a one-
year period in an annual amount not to exceed $178,963.01.
. DISCUSSION
The Santa Ana Police Department requires uniforms to outfit new
personnel, and replacement uniforms for approximately 650 employees.
Uniforms identify department personnel by assigned duties, and give a
professional appearance.
On March 19, 2001, the City Council awarded a contract to Uniform
Center for a three-year period, with provision for two one-year
renewals. Uniform Center has performed satisfactorily during the past
contract period, and staff recommends the first renewal of the
contract.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Police Property & Facilities
Materials and Supplies account (account nos. 11-343-6391).
