NO. 00-151) trI /24Jf2 CITY MANAGER APPROVED [J As Recommended [J As Amended [J Ordinance on 1st Reading [J Ordinance on 2nd ReaÓlng [J Implementing Resolution [J Set Public Hearing For CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER RECOMMENDED ACTION Renew the contract with Uniform Center for police uniforms for a one- year period in an annual amount not to exceed $178,963.01. . DISCUSSION The Santa Ana Police Department requires uniforms to outfit new personnel, and replacement uniforms for approximately 650 employees. Uniforms identify department personnel by assigned duties, and give a professional appearance. On March 19, 2001, the City Council awarded a contract to Uniform Center for a three-year period, with provision for two one-year renewals. Uniform Center has performed satisfactorily during the past contract period, and staff recommends the first renewal of the contract.
