RECOMMENDED ACTION
Award a contract to McJunkin Corporation for pump station equipment in
the amount of $13,174.54.
. DISCUSSION
The Public Works Agency's Water Resources Division is upgrading
equipment at the Crooke Pump Station. The station supplies water to
the City's north east (High Zone) area at a 'desired pressure. Due to
the age of the power controls and butterfly valves at the station, and
a lack of replacement parts, the units are considered obsolete and
repairs are no longer cost-effective. Replacing the units is part of a
normal preventative maintenance schedule which will allow the station
to continue to operate efficiently.
The notice inviting bids was advertised on February 9-10, 2004, and
bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids
received is as follows:

Bids were received, opened on February 24, 20û4, and evaluated (Exhibit
