RECOMMENDED ACTION
Amend the contract with Kone, Inc. for elevator maintenance in an
amount not to exceed $25,000 for a total amount not to exceed $160,274.
. DISCUSSION
The Police Administration Facility is equipped with 10 elevators and
one dumbwaiter. Elevators in the facility must perform consistently in
order to maintain the effectiveness of police and detention operations.
The contract provides full maintenance service, including inspections,
adjustments, testing, parts replacement, and repairs.
The Building Maintenance Superintendent solicited proposals, and
Council awarded a contract to Otis Elevator for elevator maintenance.
The City has requested final invoices from Kone, Inc. in order to
finalize payment. The amendment will allow for final payment and
termination of the contract with Kone, Inc.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Police Department's Building & Facilities
Other Contract Services account (account no. 11-350-6291).
