RECOMMENDED ACTION
Award a contract to De La Secura, Inc. for the remodeling of
kitchen at Fire Station No.8 in the amount of $52,266.60.

The kitchen at Fire Station No.8 was built in 1961, consists of the
original fixtures, and is in need of remodeling. The remodeling will
include the installation of new cabinets, counters, appliances and
fixtures, electrical and lighting improvements, and will facilitate a
more functional and well-maintained station environment.
A notice inviting bids was advertised on March 6-7, 2004, and bids were
solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as
follows:

5 Invitations For Bid mailed to a Santa Ana vendor
3 Bids received
Bids were received, and opened on March 25, 2004 (Exhibit 1). The bid
received from De La Secura, Inc. is responsive to the specification.
