RECOMMENDED ACTION
Award a contract to Troy Products for the purchase of custom computer
mounts in the amount of $16,212.50.
. DISCUSSION
The Santa Ana Police Department recently upgraded the laptop computers
utilized in patrol vehicles. However, a custom computer mount is now
necessary to accommodate the new design of the laptop computers. The
custom computer mount will replace the existing mount and facilitate
better use of the laptop computer.
The notice inviting bids was advertised on March 25-26, 2004 and bids
were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is
as follows:

Bids were received and opened on April 5, 2004. The bid received from
Troy Products is responsive to the specification and meets the City's

FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the OCJP-CA Law Enforcement Equipment Program,
Operating Materials and Supplies account (account no. 155-349-6391) and
the Criminal Activities Fund, Operating Materials and Supplies account
(account no. 26-342-6391).
