DISCUSSION
Adamson Industries, based upon the Cooperati ve
Orange County, for the purchase of traffic flares
in an annual amount not to exceed $14,340.
The Santa Ana Police Department issues traffic flares to officers for
use in the performance of duties. Traffic flares have a variety of
uses by the officers, including the routing of traffic during special
events, and cordoning off traffic during crime and accident
investigations.
The City Council adopted Ordinance No. NS-2312, authorizing the City to
purchase against contracts with other government agencies utilizing a
competitive bid process. A Cooperative Purchase Provision between the
County of Orange and Adamson Industries for traffic flares was awarded
as a result of open, competitive bidding, and meets the City
requirements.

FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Police Property and Facilities Operating
Materials and Supplies account (account no. 11-343-6391). The amount
of the contract is estimated, as the actual expenditures will depend
upon the requirements throughout the annual period.
