RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare, and authorize the City Manager and
Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to the agreement with Conrad
& Associates, LLP for comprehensive financial audit services to include
fiscal years ended June 30, 2004 and June 30, 2005 in additional amounts
of $72,154 and $73,597 respectively.
~ISCUSSION
On April 5, 1999 the City Council awarded a contract to Conrad &
Associates, LLP for comprehensive financial audit services for a five-year
period covering fiscal years 1998-99 thru 2002-2003 inclusive. In order to
provide continuity in the area of comprehensive financial audit services,
staff is recommending extending their services through June 30, 2005.
The scope shall remain the same as set forth in the RFP and agreement for
Audit Services dated April 6,1999 as amended February 13, 2002. Conrad and
Associates, LLP has had extensive experience in governmental auditing,
accounting, and financial reporting. Their work during their engagement
with the City has always been professionally competent.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds will be available in the proposed fiscal year 2004-05 budget within
the Accounting Division account (account no. 11-171-6191) to cover the
cost related to the City's General Fund, with additional funds in the
Redevelopment Agency, CDBG, Housing Authority and the Workforce Investment
programs for their respective costs. Additional funds will be budgeted to
cover the audit fee in the subsequent fiscal year.
