RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the
Clerk of the Council to execute an amended agreement with General Learning
Climates, Inc. to include additional consulting and training services in
an amount not to exceed $40,000.
erSCUSSION
The Police Department entered into an agreement with General Learning
Climates, Inc. (GLC) to assist the department with team building,
organizational development and goal setting sessions for managers and
staff. In addition, GLC provides evaluations of the department's Community
Oriented Policing strategies. Staff recommends amending the current
agreement to include services that will further strengthen the department's
organizational structure by enhancing quality implementation, internal
systems, and communications.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $8,000 are available in the FY 03-04 Police
Department's Office of the Chief of Police Contractual Services Account
(account no. 11-331-6291). Funds in the amount of $32,000 are included in
the FY 04-05 budget.
