CITY MANAGER
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Amend the contract with Government Technology Services, Inc. (GTSI) to
increase the aggregate limit by $20,000 for the purchase of technology
8 products based upon the u.S. Communities contract with GTSI for an
annual amount not to exceed $30,000.
DISCUSSION
The City of Santa Ana utilizes various types of computer equipment and
computer-related peripherals throughout the organization in order to
facilitate daily operations. The equipment and peripherals include,
but are not limited to, such items as printers and scanners, wireless
routers, hard drives and back-up drives, and servers. Occasionally,
accessories and supplies are necessary to allow for continuous use of
the equipment. A contract for technology products is essential for
maximum efficiency.
U. s. Communities recently awarded a contract for technology products
for leading brands of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and
related service solutions. The City Council adopted Ordinance No. NS-
2312 authorizing the City to purchase against contracts with other
government agencies utilizing a competitive bid process. The
recommended vendor for the purchase of technology products was awarded
a contract as a result of open, competitive bidding, and will provide
steep discounts from list price and meets the City's requirements.
