HomeMy WebLinkAbout25C - GASOLINE SERVICES REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION _.TV COUNCIL MEETING DATE: ~ ~ CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: JUNE 21, 2004 APPROVED TITLE: AMEND AGREEMENT FOR CHEVRON USA GASOLINE SERVICES j(t;}.V 0 As Recommended 0 As Anlended 0 Ordinance on 1't Reading 0 Ordinance on 2"d Reading 0 Implementing Resolution 0 Set PUblic Hearing For CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER RECOMMENDED ACTION Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute an amended agreement with Chevron USA to increase the aggregate limit by $7,000 for the purchase of fuel, in an annual amount not to exceed $17,000. 8rSCUSSION The Police Department utilizes Chevron USA gas stations to fuel their motorcycle units with "premium" gasoline which is not available from the City's Fleet Services Division. Premium gasoline is required for the motorcycle fleet to maximize their efficiency and longevity. In addition, Police Officers who use City vehicles to conduct investigations outside of the City utilize Chevron USA gas stations to refuel. Currently, the Police Department spends approximately $1,200 per month to fuel police motorcycles and $350 per month for police vehicles. During the first six months of FY 2003/04 the Department has paid Chevron USA approximately $8,000. It. is estimated that additional payments to Chevron USA during the balance of this fiscal year will be $~,OOO for the Police Department. FISCAL IMPACT Funds are available in the Police Department's Traffic Division Rental of City Equipment Account (account no. 011-333-6511). APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: ,'....', ~[~. aul M.
