NO. 02-050) ~ QÛJa CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER CITY MANAGER RECOMMENDED ACTION Renew the contract with Myers & Sons Hi-Way purchase and installation of construction signs, in an annual amount not to exceed $50,000. 8 DISCUSSION Safety, Inc. for the for a one-year period The Public Works Agency is responsible for a variety of major improvements to the City's streets, storm drains and sewers, buildings, and parks. Projects approved by City Council are identified with construction signs containing the logo: "a sign of things to come". Signs are used to inform the public of improvements made to the community by the City of Santa Ana. On May 20, 2002, the City Council awarded a contract to Myers & Sons Hi-Way Safety, Inc. for a two-year period, with provision for two one- year renewals. Myers & Sons Hi-Way Safety, Inc. continues to maintain the lowest prices available. The vendor has performed satisfactorily, and staff recommends the first renewal of the contract. FISCAL IMPACT The costs of the signs will be charged to the City's Capital Improvement Program. various projects in the Ja es G.
