RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authori:.;:;e the City Manager and
Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to the agreement with HNTB
Corp. to provide civil engineering services, increasing the amount by
$100,000 for a total contract amount of $400,000 and extending the term
~f the agreement to August 31, 2005.
DISCUSSION
In August 2001 the Public Works Agency contracted with HNTB Corp. to
provide as-needed engineering and landscape services. These services are
required to augment City staff to complete the design of various public
works improvement projects in a timely manner. Two projects, The Dan
Young Soccer Field and Festival Hall, were designed by HNTB and are now
under construction. HNTB Corp.' s expertise is required to perform
construction support and specialized structural engineering services to
complete these projects. An increase in the amount of the contract is
required since the remaining balance on the original contract is not
enough to cover these services.
