RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and
the Clerk of the Council to execute a new one-year agreement with
Hernandez Cart Service, Inc. for cart retrieval services citywide with a
provision for two one-year extensions for an amount not to exceed
8$84,000.
DISCUSSION
On June 18, 2001, the City entered into an agreement with Hernandez Cart
Service Inc. (HCSI) to retrieve unattended shopping carts throughout the
City. Since then, HCSI has performed successfully and has worked closely
with staff to ensure timely service levels. Hernandez has agreed to
continue the service under the same terms and conditions. To ensure
continued uninterrupted cart-retrieval service the City Council is
requested to approve a new one-year agreement with two one-year renewal
options.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds will be available in the FY 2004-2005
