DISCUSSION
Pursuant to State Redevelopment Law and Health and Safety Code Section
3433, the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Ana is
required to file a report to the legislative body within 30 days after the
end of the Agency's fiscal year if the Agency has sold or leased a small
housing project. This report (Exhibit 1) is being provided in order to
satisfy this requirement.
On September 2, 2003, the Community Redevelopment Agency conducted a
public hearing and approved Resolution No. 2003-10, which authorized a
development agreement and the conveyance of the parcel located at 322 W.
Adams Street to Habitat for Humanity of Orange County. This parcel,
containing two lots, was sold to Habitat for $269,000 on December 3, 2003,
with the expressed goal of facilitating the development of affordable
homeownership opportunities for two very-low income families.
Habitat for Humanity of Orange County has proceeded
