Renew the contracts for miscellaneous plumbing supplies in the annual
amounts as follows:

DISCUSSION
Plumbing supplies such as pipes, valves, bushings and tools are used
extensively in the maintenance of City facilities. Various departments
require a wide range of materials for repair or improvement proj ects.
To help ensure that all necessary materials are available when required,
contracts were awarded to two vendors.
On June 17, 2002, the City Council awarded contracts for miscellaneous
plumbing supplies to Plumbing and Industrial Supply, and Irvine Pipe &
Supply, both Santa Ana vendors, for a two-year period with provision
for two one-year renewals. Although Irvine Pipe & Supply has requested
a three percent price increase overall, they continue to maintain the
lowest prices available. The vendors have performed satisfactorily
during the past contract period, and staff recommends the first renewal
of the contract.
