HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-31-1972MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA July 31, 1972 An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Santa Aha was convened at 12:10 P.M., at the Jolly Ox Restaurant, 2201 E. First Street, proper Notice and Posting having been accomplished, with affidavits on file with the Clerk of the Council. The following Councilmen were present: Vernon So Evans, Wade Serrin, Jerry M. Patterson, Ray Villa, 3. Ogden Markel, Harry Ko Yamamoto, and Mayo~,Lorin Griset. Also present were City Attorney James A. Wi~hers, Clerk of the~Council Florence I. Malone and representatives of the AoD. Little Company, Robert Coop and Norman Roberts. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE The City Attorney advised that LICENSE APPLICATION Mrs. Cora Balch, 606 East First Street, had agreed to withdraw her request to Council on July 3, to protest the application for an on-sale beer, person- to-person transfer of the Lasso Bar license, 610 E. First Street due to an agree- ment between the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board and the new owners, Raymond and Linda L. Nichols. The City Attorney was directed to notify the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board of the withdrawal of the protest, on motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Markel and carried, with Councilman Yamamoto dissenting. EXECUTIVE SESSION At 12:55 P.M., on motion of Councilman Villa, seconded by Councilman Herrin, Council recessed for an Executive Session to hear reports from the City Attorney regarding pending litigation an~d from the representatives of A.D. Little Company regarding recruit- ment of a City Manager, respectively. ADJOURNMENT At 2:40 P.M., the City Council reconvened with all Councilmen present and the meeting was declared adjourned to Monday, August 7, 1972,~ at 12:00 Noon, City Hall Annex, 530 North Ross Street, for an Executive Session to further consider the appoint- ment of a City Manager and to interview applicants at h00 P.M. for appointment to the Personnel Board~ on the unanimously carried motion of Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Villa.
