NO. 04-113) CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: APPROVED Q As Recommended Q As Amended Q Ordinance on 1 st Reading Q Ordinance on 2nd Reading Q Implementing Resolution Q Set Public Hearing For 1\~.y a/1Ja CITY MANAGER CONTINUED TO ---- - FILE NUMBER RECOMMENDED ACTION Award a contract to Wondries Fleet Group, under Purchase Provision of Los Angeles County, for the police patrol sedans in the amount of $48,993.16. the Cooperative purchase of two DISCUSSION The City's Fleet Maintenance Division maintains a replacement schedule for police patrol type vehicles that have accumulated at least 70,000 miles. The vehicles operate a minimum of 8 -12 hours per day, often double shifts, under City conditions. As a result, each vehicle is evaluated based on age, mileage, and increased downtime. Two patrol type vehicles have been identified and approved for replacement for fiscal year 2004-2005. The two vehicles will be equipped with police approved equipment, painted white, and assigned to the Parks Security Patrol division of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency, whose Park Rangers patrol 40 parks and special facilities throughout the City. Santa Ana City Ordinance No. NS-2312 authorizes the City to purchase against contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid process. The County of Los Angeles contract with Wondries Fleet Group for police patrol sedans was awarded as a result of open, competitive bidding, and meets the City's requirements. 22G-1 cs. 383 Contract Renewal for Replacement Police Patrol Sedans (Spec.
