" a jPt'~-- CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER CITY MANAGER RECOMMENDED ACTION Award a contract to Coastline Equipment, using the City of Glendale's contract with Coastline Equipment for the purchase of a John Deere tractor backhoe in the amount of $82,752. DISCUSSION The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program is included in the City's annual budget, and identifies vehicles scheduled for replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation schedule established with each department. The Public Works Agency's Water Maintenance Division has been charged with replacing 12,500 lineal feet of water mains annually, as well as replacing water valves, fire hydrants and installing new commercial water services within the City. Due to its age, worn condition and engine hours, a 1992 John Deere backhoe has been approved for replacement in the current fiscal year. Santa Ana City Ordinance No. NS-2312 authorizes the City to purchase against contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid process. The City of Glendale's contract with Coastline Equipment for a John Deere tractor backhoe was awarded as a result of open, competitive bidding, and meets the City's requirements. 22J-1 CS. 383 Contract Award for a John Deere Tractor Backhoe (Spec.
