RECOMMENDED ACTION
Apprave an apprapriatian adjustment accepting Federal Library Services and
Technalagy Act funds far the Public Library Staff Educatian pragram 'Of
$7,095 in revenue accaunt (accaunt na. 154-01-5361) and apprapriate the
funds ta expenditure accaunts (accaunt nas. 154-215-6221 and 154-215-6590)
ta pravide reimbursement far library staff.
DISCUSSION
The Library Services and Technalagy Act 'Of 1996 created the Public Library
Staff Educatian Pragram ta pravide tuitian reimbursement far library
emplayees wha are enralled in a library science degree 'Or certificate
pragram. Santa Ana Public Library has participated in the Public Library
Staff Educatian Pragram since its inceptian and has been awarded funding
far this year ta reimburse twa staff members currently enralled in Masters
in Library Science pragrams far casts related ta that educatian.
FISCAL IMPACT
The apprapriatian adjustment will enhance the library services revenue
accaunt (accaunt na. 154-01-5361) and the expenditure apprapriatian far
the Public Library Staff Educatian pragram training and transpartatian and
indirect cast (accaunt nas. 154-215-6221 and 154-215-6590).
