RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and
the Clerk of the Council to execute a contract with the Science
Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to assist with historic
resources consulting services in an amount not to exceed $69,000.
DISCUSSION
The Historic Resources Commission has identified as one of its objectives
the need to continue documenting and maintaining records for properties
eligible for listing on the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties.
The City selected the consulting firm of Science Applications
International Corporation (SAIC) in October 2000 to comprehensively
research and document structures within the City limits not currently on
the local register. Over the past four years, significant progress has
been made in the completion of this objective, however there are still
numerous historic properties which require field survey, research and
analysis.
Continuing the research and documentation requires approval of a contract
with SAIC. The proposed work program for the consultant consists of the
following tasks:
1. Perform windshield survey of city to identify historic resources.
2. Preparation of approximately five historic templates per month,
including field survey and research of historic records for each
property.
3.
Attendance
