RECOMMENDED ACTION
Award a contract to Woodbridge Glass for the purchase and installation
of atrium glass in an amount not to exceed $15,000.
DISCUSSION
In January 1997, the Santa Ana Police Department Administration and
Jail Facility was completed. The four-story building includes two
large atrium ceilings, each comprising 56 individual Lexan
polycarbonate and glass panes. The atrium allows for natural light to
flow into employee work areas. Periodic resealing of glass joints is
required in order to prevent water penetration. The Building
Maintenance Superintendent has identified Woodbridge Glass as the sole
source of the Lexan polycarbonate and glass panes. The contract will
provide for the resealing of the entire atrium.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Police Buildings and Facilities Maintenance
and Machinery & Equipment account (account no. 11-350-6641).
