RECOMMENDED ACTION
Renew the contract with Family Tree Produce for a one-year period in an
annual amount not to exceed $25,000.
DISCUSSION
Various types of animal food are required for the Santa Ana Zoo at
Prentice Park. The contract for animal food is designed to provide
quality products at significant savings based on quantity pricing.
On January 21, 2003, the City Council awarded a contract to Family Tree
Produce, for a two-year period with provision for two one-year
renewals. The vendor has performed satisfactorily during the past
contract period and has agreed to renew the contract without an
increase in pricing. Staff recommends the first renewal of the
contract.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for the first six months are budgeted and available in the FY
2004-2005 Recreation and Community Services Zoo Animal Food account
(account no. 11-247-6392). Funds for the duration of the contract
