RECOMMENDED ACTION
Award a contract to Crime Point, Inc. for the purchase of surveillance
equipment in the amount of $13,985.95.
DISCUSSION
The Santa Ana Police Department's Special Investigations Section
require surveillance equipment during undercover operations. The
surveillance equipment includes recording devices that will allow for
the officers to capture conversations digitally. The conversations are
then downloaded onto a computer for review as necessary. The new
equipment will also allow for monitoring of conversations as they occur
live, thus creating a safer environment for undercover officers and
informants.
The notice inviting bids was advertised on November 3 and 5,
