RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and
Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Communications Support
Group, Inc. to provide cable television franchise renewal services and
financial audit services for an amount not to exceed $30,100.
DISCUSSION
Specialized planning and financial analysis is required for the cable
television franchise renewal process. These consulting services will
provide strategic development, negotiation support, fact finding, and
financial analysis. Communications Support Group, Inc. has assisted over 20
ci ties with their cable franchise renewals. On April 19, 2004 the City
entered into an agreement with Communications Support Group, Inc. to begin
the franchise renewal process.
The services provided under this agreement will assist the City in
completing the franchise renewal process. In addition, Communications
Support Group, Inc. will provide the Finance and Management Services Agency
with cable franchise financial audit services for calendar years 2001
through 2004.

FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the City Attorney's Office other personnel services
account (account no. 11-031-6191) and the Treasury Division other contract
services account (account no. 11-175-6291).
