HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-01-1974MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA July 1, 1974 The meeting was called to order at 2:08 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 22 Civic Center Plaza, with the following Councilmen present: J. Ogden Markel, John Garthe, Harry K. Yamamoto, James E. Ward, Lorin Griset, and Vice Mayor Vernon S. Evans. Mayor Jerry M. Patterson was absent on City business in Washington, D.C. Also present were City Manager Bruce C. Spragg, City Attorney James A. Withers, Director of Planning Charles C. Zimmerman, Director of Public Works Ronald Wolford, and Clerk of the Council Florence I. Malone. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE INVOCATION by Councilman Yamamoto. (CA 80.17) Following the Pledge of Allegiance led by Vice Mayor Evans, the Invocation was given MINUTES APPROVAL The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 17, Adjourned Regular Meetings of June 19 and June 20, 1974, were unanimously approved on motion of Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Evans. HOUSING AUTHORITY At 2:10 P.M., Council COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY recessed to convene the Annual Meeting of The Housing Authority. At 2:35 P.M., the Housing Authority adjourned, and the Chair- man immediately convened the Community Redevelopment Agency. After roll call, the Chairman recessed the meeting to 4:00 P.M. for the Annual Meeting of the Agency. Council reconvened at 2:37 P.M. with the same Councilmen present. CONSENT CALENDAR The following Agenda items were removed from the Consent Calendar: Items 4, 7 A, 1S, iS A, and iS B requested by Councilman Markel; Items 5 A, $ C, ? Councilman Yamamoto stated that a similar request approximately two years ago, by residents of the First and ~ackson Street area, had been denied by Council.
