RESOLUTION 72-14 A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPOINTING THE CITY ATTORNEY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS THE ATTORNEY FOR THE HOUSING AUTHORITY AND SETTING FORTH THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE ATTORNEY. WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Ana has found and hereby determines that there is a for legal services for the Housing Authority; and Santa need WHEREAS, Chapter I Article III of the Housing Authorities Law of the State of California (Section 34279) provides that the Housing Authority may call upon the chief law officer of the City to perform the legal services the Housing Authority requires; and WHEREAS, Section VIII of the By-Laws of the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana provide that the Authority may from time to time employ such personnel as it deems necessary to exercise its powers, duties, and functions as prescribed by the Housing Authorities Law, as amended, of California and other laws of the State of California applicable thereto; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to delineate the powers and duties of the attorney so selected by the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana, California: 1) The City Attorney of the city of Santa Ana shall be appointed as the attorney for the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana. 2) That the attorney for the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana shall: a. Represent and advise the Housing Authority and all Housing Authority Commissioners, officers, and employees, in all matters of law pertaining to their offices; b. Attend all meetings of the Housing Authority and give his advice or opinion in writing whenever requested to do so by the Housing Authority or by any of the Commission- ers, officers, or employees of the Housing Authority; c. Prepare or approve all proposed resolutions for the Housing Authority, and amendments thereto; d. Represent and appear for the Housing Authority and any Housing Authority Commissioner, officer, or employee, or former Housing Authority Commissioner, officer, or employee, and any or all actions and proceedings in which the Housing Authority or any such Commissioner, officer, or employee, in or by reason of his official capacity, is concerned or is a party; r I. .
