RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION
TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATES
UNDER THE "SECTION 8 HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
FOR EXISTING HOUSING."
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of
Santa Ana is authorized to administer the "Housing Assistance
Program for Section 8 Existing Housing Program for the
United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
("HUD"); and
WHEREAS, HUD notified the Housing Authority of the
City of Santa Ana on August 27,1982 that fifty-three (53)
Section 8 certificates are available which would increase
the number of persons of low and moderate income who may be
assisted in their housing within the City of Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, the fifty-three (53) available Section 8
certificates consist of fifteen (15) for elderly persons,
thirteen (13) for small families, and twenty-fi~e (25) for
large families as these terms are defined in Title 24 of the
Code of Federal Regul~tions; and
WHEREAS, HUD requires the Housing Authority of the
City of Santa Ana to file its application for the fifty-
three (53) Section 8 certificates by September 10, 1982.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the HOUSING
AUTHORITY of the City of Santa Ana as follows:
1. The Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana
declares the submission of the application for the fifty-
three (53) Section 8 Existing Housing certificates by
September 10,1982 to be an emergency matter.
2. The submission of an application to the United
States Department of Housing and Urban Development for fifty-
three (53) additional Section 8 Existing Housing certificates
is hereby approved.
3. The Executive Director of the Housing Authority
of the City of Santa Ana is hereby authorized and directed
to take all necessary steps to file said application and to
provide such additional information as may be required.
