RESOLUTION NO. 83-3
RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOP-
MENT FOR ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATES UNDER THE "SECTION 8
MODERATE REHABILITATION PROGRAM"
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana
is authorized to administer the "Housing Assistance Program for
Section 8 Exisiting Housing" Program for the United States Depart-
ment of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD"); and
WHEREAS, HUD notified the Housing Authority of the City
of Santa Ana on June 3, 1983 that additional Section 8 Moderate
Rehabilitation certificates are available which would increase'
the number of standard housing units available to low and moderate
income persons, and increase the number of persons of low and
moderate income who may be assisted in their housing within the
City of Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, the available Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation
certificates applied for consist of twenty-five (25) for elderly
persons, thirty-seven (37) for small families, and thirty-eight
(38) for large families as these terms are defined in Title 24 of
the Code of Federal Regulations; and
WHEREAS, HUD requires the Housing Authority of the City
of Santa Ana to file its application for the additional Section 8
Moderate Rehabilitation certificates by June 13,1983.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the HOUSING AUTHORITY
of the City of Santa Ana as follows:
1. The Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana
declares the submission of the application for the additional
Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation certificates by Jùne 13, 1983
to be an emergency matter.
2. The submission of an application to the United
States Department of Housing and Urban Development for additional
Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation certificates is hereby approved.
3. The Executive Director of the Housing Authority of
the City of Santa Ana is hereby authorized and directed to take
all necessary steps to file said application and to provide such
additional information as may be required.
