RESOLUTION 83-4
RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION
TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATES
UNDER THE "SECTION 8 HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
FOR EXISTING HOUSING, RENTAL REHABILITATION
DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM"

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of
Santa Ana is authorized to administer the "Housing Assistance
Program for Section 8 Existing Housing, Rental Rehabilitation
Demonstration Program for the united States Department of
Housing and Urban Development ("HUD"); and
WHEREAS, HUD notified the Housing Authority of the
City of Santa Ana on september 12,1983 that thirteen (13)
Section 8 certificates are available with the Rental Rehab-
ilitation Demonstration Program which would increase the
number of persons of low and moderate income who may be
assisted in their housing within the City of Santa Ana; and

WHEREAS, the thirteen (13) available Section 8
certificates consist of four (4) for small families, and
nine (9) for large families as these terms are defined in
Title 24 of Code of Federal Regulations; and
WHEREAS, HUD requires the Housing Authority of the
City of Santa Ana to file its application for the thirteen
(13) Section 8 certificates by September 28,1983; and
WHEREAS, the Housing Advisory Commission of the
City of Santa Ana has approved the submission of said
application;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the HOUSING
AUTHORITY of the City of Santa Ana as follows:
1. The Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana
declares the submission of the application for the thirteen
(13) Section 8 Existing Housing certificates by September
28,1983 to be an emergency matter.

2. The submission of an application to the United
States Department of Housing and Urban Development for
thirteen (13) additional Section 8 Existing Housing
certificates is hereby ratified.

3. The Executive Director of the Housing
Authority of the City of Santa Ana is hereby authorized and
directed to take all necessary steps to file said appli-
cation and to provide such additional information as may be
required.
