RESOLUTION NO. 84-3
RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE SUB-
MISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE UNITED
STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN
DEVELOPMENT FOR ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATES
UNDER THE "SECTION 8 HOUSING ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM FOR EXISTING HOUSING, RENTAL
REHABILITATION DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM"
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of
Santa Ana is authorized to administer the "Housing Assistance
Program for Section 8 Existing Housing, Rental Rehabilitation
Demonstration Program" for the United States Department of
Housing and Urban Development ("HUD")1 and
WHEREAS, HUD notified the Housing Authority of the
City of Santa Ana on June 19, 1984, Section 8 certificates
are available with the Rental Rehabilitation Demonstration
Program which would increase the number of persons of low
and moderate income who may be assisted in their housing
within the City of Santa Anal and
WHEREAS, of the seventy-four (74) available
Section 8 certificates, forty-six (46) are available to
small families, and twenty~eight (28) to large familes as
these terms are defined in Title 24 of Code of Federal
Regulations 1 and
WHEREAS, HUD requires the Housing Authority of the
City of Santa Ana to file its application for the seventy-
four (74) Section 8 certificates by August 10, 19841 and
WHEREAS, the Housing Advisory Commission of the
City of Santa Ana has approved the submission of said
application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the HOUSING
AUTHORITY of the City of Santa Ana as follows:
1. The Housing Authority of the City of Santa
Ana declares the submission of the application for the
seventy-four (74) Section 8 Existing Housing certificates by
August 10, 1984 to be an emergency matter.

2. The submission of an application to the
United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
for seventy-four (74) additional Section 8 Existing Housing
certificates is hereby ratified.
3. The Executive Director of the Housing Authority
of the City of Santa Ana is hereby authorized and directed
to take all necessary steps to file said application and to
provide such additional information as may be required.
