RESOLUTION NO.
84-4
RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE SUB-
MISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE UNITED
STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN
DEVELOPMENT FOR ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATES
UNDER THE "SECTION 8 HOUSING ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM FOR EXISTING HOUSING."

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of
Santa Ana is authorized to administer the "Housing Assistance
Program for Section 8 Existing Housing Program" for the
United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
("HUD"); and
.
WHEREAS, HUD notified the Housing Authority of the
City of Santa Ana on June 28, 1984 that Section 8 certificates
are available which would increase the number of persons of
low and moderate income who may be assisted in their housing
within the City of Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, the two hundred (200) Section 8 certifi-
cates applied for consist of thirty (30) for elderly persons,
seventy (70) for small families, and one hundred (100) for
large families as these terms are defined in Title 24 of the
Code of Federal Regulations; and
WHEREAS, HUD requires the Housing Authority
City of Santa Ana to file its application for the two
(200) Section 8 certificates by July 27, 1984.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Housing
Authority of the City of Santa Ana as follows:

1. The Housing Authority of the City of Santa
Ana declares the submission of the application for the two
hundred (200) Section 8 Existing Housing certificates by
July 27, 1984 to be an emergency matter.
2. The submission of an application to the
United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
for two hundred (200) additional Section 8 Existing Housing
certificates is hereby approved.

3. The Executive Director of the Housing Authority
of the City of Santa Ana is hereby authorized and directed
to take all necessary steps to file said application and to
provide such information as may be required.
