RESOLUTION NO. 85-5
RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE
SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR ADDITIONAL CER-
TIFICATES AND VOUCHERS UNDER THE "SEC-
TION 8 HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR
EXISTING HOUSING."
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Santa A~a
("PHA") is authorized to administer the "Housing Assistance "r:ogram

ment of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD")I and

WHEREAS, the PHA desires to request HUD permission to waive
the priorities and limits required for Section 8 Existing and Mçder-
ate Rehabilitation programs to enable it to admit homeless single
persons and/or families into these programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Housing Authority of
the City of Santa Ana as follows:
1. The Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana declares
the submission of the application for seventy-five (75) Section 8
Existing Housing certificates and vouchers for the homeless by
April 1, 1985 to be an emergency matter.
2. The submission of an application to the United States
Department of Housing and Urban Development for seventy-five (75)
additional Section 8 Existing Housing certificates or vouchers is
hereby approved.

3. The Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the
City of Santa Ana is hereby authorized and directed to take all nec-
essary steps to file said application and to provide such information
as may be required. '
4. The Executive Director is hereby authorized to request a
waiver of the priorities and limits for admission of single persons
and/or families in the U.S. Housing Act for the Section 8 Existing
and Moderate Rehabilitation programs.
