MINUTES
ANNUAL MEETING OF THE
HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
July 3, 1972
The Annual Meeting of the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana. was
called to order by Chairman Jerry M. Patterson at 4:00 P.M., in the
City Hall Annex, 530 North Ros s Street, Santa Ana.
The following members of the Authority responded to the roll call:
Vernon S. Evans
Lorin Griset
Wade Herrin
Ray Villa
Harry K. Yamamoto
Jerry M. Patterson
There were also present by invitation the following:
Bruce C. Spragg, Secretary Pro Tem
Robert Portillo, Assistant to the City Manager
for Community Relations
James A. Withers, City Attorney
Florence I. Malone, Recording Secretary
Sandi Mosley, Reporter
SECRETARY PRO TEM REPORT
Mr. Spragg introdu"ed Mr'. Portillo,
who reported that during a telephone
conversation on Wednesday, June 28, the
local Housing and Urban Development representative had advised that the, City's
application under the Section 23 Leased Housing Program had been approved for
100 units and that written confirmation would follow in the mail.
AFFIRMATION OF
ELECTED OFFICERS
Affirmation of the election of Chairman
and Vice Chairman as voted at the
Organizational Meeting held on May 1,
1972, was moved by Commissioner Griset, seconded by Commissioner Yamamoto.
Commissioner Villa asked Vice Chairman Evans if he were willing to continue
to serve as an officer of the Authority and if he were committed to it. Mr.
Evans replied that he would not support the Authority in principle or philosophy,
but that he would serve on the Authority and act as Vice Chairman.
Following further discussion of the subject, Councilman Villa moved to amend
the motion to oppose the affirmation of Mr. Evans I election on May 1 as Vice
Chairman of the Authority. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Evans.
The amendment to the motion failed on the following roll call vote:

REGULAR MEETING
A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING
AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA RESCINDING RESOLUTION 72-5
AND REDESIGNATING THE TIME AND PLACE OF REGULAR MEETING OF
THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA was unanimously
adopted on motion of Commissioner Griset, seconded by Commissioner Yama-
moto.
ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 4:25 P.M.
on the unanimously approved motion
of Commissioner Yamamoto seconded by Commissioner Griset.
