MINUTES
HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
July 16, 1973
The Regular Meeting of the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana
was called to order at 2:11 P.M., by Chairman Jerry M. Patterson,
in the Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana. The
members of the Authority responded to the roll call as follows:

The full reading of the
Minutes of the Regular
Meeting of May 21, 1973 and the Adjourned Regular Meeting of June 18.
1973 was waived and the Minutes were unanimously approved as mailed
on motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Evans,
subject to the following correction on page 1 of the Minutes of May 21,
in the paragraph entitled, "Minute s" .
MINUTES
Delete "Commissioner Griset" as the second to the motion
approving the Minutes and substitute "Commissioner Garthe".
A letter dated June 29,
1973 from Paul R. Kaup,
Director of the Housing Management Division of the Department of Housing
and Urban Development Area office in Los Angeles, was received and filed
on the unanimously approved motion of Commissioner Griset, seconded by
Commis sioner Evans. The letter notified the Authority of the approval of
additional Operating Subsidy Funds in the total amount of $59,250.00.
COMMUNICA TIONS
The Secretary reported
that since his previous
status report filed with the Authority on June 16, the staff had placed an
additional 13 familie s in leased housing, for a total of 23; that the re are
a total of 312 applications now in process of which 162 are eligible and 30
are not, with 120 still pending.

Commissioner Ward expressed concern over the matter of dispersement
of the leased units throughout the City. The Secretary responded that
the dispersement pattern was very gratifying.
Commissioner Griset requested information on the residence history of
the tenants in the City. The Secretary reported that information would
be provided at the next meeting.
