MINUTES
HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
December 20,1976
The Regular Meeting of the Housing Authority of the City of
Santa Ana, was called to order at 2:07 P.M., by Chairman Harry
K. Yamamoto, in the Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza,
Santa Ana. The following members of the Authority responded to
the roll call:

The full reading of
the Minutes of
November 15,1976,
and the Minutes of the Adjourned Regular Meetings of November 23,
1976 and December 6, 1976, was waived and they were approved as
mailed on motion of Commissioner Brandt, seconded by Commissioner
Garthe, and unanimously carried (6-0).
MINUTES
BILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS
Nothing to report.
On motion of Com-
missioner Ward,
seconded by Com-
missioner Garthe, and carried (6-0) the following documents were
received and filed:
REPORT OF DIRECTOR
1.
The Monthly Report for the Section 23 Leased
Housing (Existing Units), indicating that 60
of the 100 authorized units were under lease
as of December 1,1976.
2.
November 30, 1976, Trial Balance for the Section
23 Leased Housing Program, indicating a balance
of $571,184.90.
3.
The Monthly Report for the Section 8 Leased
Housing indicating that 196 units of the
450 authorized by HUD were under lease as
of December 1, 1976.
November 30,1976, Trial Balance for the Section
8 Housing Assistance Payments Program (HAP),
indicating a balance of $342,350.59.
Prior to the motion Mr. Rede reported to the Authority that HUD
had given a 20% increase in the currently existing fair market
rents for three and four bedroom units, which should assist the
City's leasing program.

Answering Commissioner Ward's question, Mr. Rede stated that
approximately 70-80% of the eligible applicants secure housing
within 60 days.

The meeting was
adjourned at 2:14 P.M.,
on the unanimously
approved motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner
Ortiz, and unanimously carried (6-0).
